6 months 3 weeks

I got a little picture and video-happy this week. He smiles and laughs so much, I can't help but capture it. Aside from going to the gym and our weekly Target trip, we have stayed in the house most of the week since it's been so cold. This weekend it's supposed to be in the 60's so hopefully we will get to the park if we have time. I am teaching Mason to give high fives. He (sort of) does it in one of the videos below. I can't believe how much he is learning and changing everyday. He is so much fun!

Sweet Lucy is so patient with Mason and she loves him to death. He loves for her to lick his toes and every now and then I let her lick on his face. It's gross, but Mason loves it. Notice at the end of this video he just grabs her face. I had to stop the video to make him let go of her fur.

Bathroom troubles... :)

A few months ago, Eric and I kept noticing that our bathroom floor was wet. Eric installed a new toilet a couple months prior and I thought it was a simple toilet leak. After he looked at it more closely, we noticed the wall that housed the shower pipes was soggy and our shower had a pretty bad leak. In fact, the only thing keeping the wall board together was the painted over wallpaper. I was talking to a friend about it at work. when one of out Realtors overheard me and told me that I should probably have someone come look and make sure the shower leak did not create mold. I called out a mold remediator the next day and sure enough we had mold. He said that he would have to remove the shower and two feet of the wall on either side of the shower...Which meant, we had to find a contractor to come in and basically rebuild our bathroom after the mold guys were finished. They spend two days solid days banging and drilling around in the bathroom and below is a pictures of what our bathroom looks like right now. We are waiting on the contractor to come out and get started. Once he is done (hopefully, sooner rather that later) I will post pictures of our new bathroom. And just for grins, here are some pictures I took of Mason this week. At his 6 month doctor's appt, he was in the 50th% weight, 75th% height, and.......... 97th% head circumfrence!!!!!

Christmas and New Year's

Happy New Year! I am so excited to see what 2009 has in store for us and have no doubt it will be a busy year. Here is just a quick rundown of our "Holiday Happenings."

Christmas Eve was spent with the Lackey side of the family. Eric's grandparents were in town from Florida so it was fun to be able to share Christmas with them this year. We attended Christmas eve service at our church and then ate the traditional Christmas meal and opened gifts. Mason slept through most of it but he was spoiled rotten and loves all his new toys. Christmas Day we headed to my parents house to celebrate with the Kee side of the family. We all used our purell hand sanitizer and Amy, Lorin, and Alex did not get the stomach virus and made it to our Christmas breakfast this year. My nephew, Alex, loves Elmo so he got a lot of Elmo stuff including a pair of much anticipated, and talked about Elmo houseshoes. Mason got more toys than he knows what to do with. First Christmas's are insane!

The day after Christmas we headed to Smithville to spend the week at the cabin. New Year's Eve we had our college friends come up with their kids to spend the night. Blair and Mitch's daughter, Annie, celebrated her first birthday on New Year's Eve. Eric built us a huge bonfire and we all had a great time.

Mason has hit some more milestones over the last week. He is now eating solids. So far he has tried green beans, peas, and now squash. He loves them all. He also started sitting up by himself this week. He still topples over every now and then so I can't walk away from him yet but it won't be long before he is completely independent. I haven't gotten a picture of him sitting up yet but I will post one soon. Mason is also working on cutting his second tooth on the bottom. Tomorrow we head back home and back to reality. It has been a wonderful Christmas vacation. I hope you enjoy the slideshow of all the pictures from the last two weeks.
