This week at the Lackey's....

WOW! Last week was a whirlwind. On the job front, the Brentwood and Franklin Keller Williams Realty offices have combined into one office which has kept me in the office quite a bit. I do miss being there so much but it's great to get home and see Mason. Last week he had four different people watching him throughout the week and adapted to all of them so quickly. Since Eric doesn't participate in this blog anymore (ahem...) I will update you on his life as well. He was pretty busy at work too with the Town Hall for Hope Event. For those of you who didn't get to see it, you missed an awesome message. I am hoping they find a way to post it online or make a DVD of the event. It was the largest simulcast in history with over 6,000 churches hosting the event and over 1 million viewing. It was truly amazing to see it come together and impact so many. Eric also completed the 1/2 marathon on Saturday in the almost 90 degree weather. He would tell you that he didn't do as well as he hoped but considering the heat, I think he did pretty well. I am proud of him for doing it again. Good job Eric!! It really is a HUGE accomplishment!!

Okay enough of us, here are the Mason updates..

He has been crawling for about a month now and can haul some serious butt. He is getting really good at pulling up and did it tonight with one hand. I kind of have a feeling he will be walking before his first birthday. I kind of would prefer to keep him on all fours, but we'll see. He has been saying DADADADADA for a while now and in the last couple of weeks he has added MAMAMAMAMAMA to his vocabulary. He waves ALL the time now with both hands and is eating lots of big boy food. His favorites are toast, chicken, pasta, eggs, crackers, goldfish, and bananas. His favorite toy he will play with for hours is a child's size plastic coat hanger. Probably not the safest thing for him to play with but he has yet to "poke his eye out" so we'll let him continue to play with it as long as it entertains him.

Mimi and Big Daddy got a walker and Mason loves it. It's way better than the one we have at home so he gets real excited to go for rides in it. This weekend he and Big Daddy washed their cars together.

We also went to the Main Street Festival with the rest of Franklin on Saturday and somehow we ended up going Sunday too. I guess we just really wanted to be outside and enjoy the weather and it was somewhere to go.

This weekend we are headed up to the lake. It's supposed to rain but we are hoping to get out on the lake and take a ride. Stay tuned for some pictures of Mason's first boat ride.

This week..

This week was a busy one and I am so proud I remembered to document it with pictures. I am trying to keep my camera charged and on me at all times. Early in the week Titi, Harper and Saylor came over one afternoon to visit. All the kids played together so well...especially Mason and Saylor. Brooke and I joked that they are finally the same age.

Mason got a new riding toy a few weeks ago and he likes to be pushed around the house in it. I will be happy when BOTH his feet touch the ground and he can scoot around himself.
Eric had to work late one night this week. This is what we do when we wait for him to come home. Sad..isn't it?
On Wednesday, we went to the Tax Day tea party in Downtown Franklin. Eric and I stayed up late on Tuesday night working on our signs. It was fun making the signs and really cool to be there and see how many people showed up. I got there late (traffic was horrible) and ended up in the back where I couldn't see and could barely hear anything. Regardless, I am glad I went to stand up what is right.

Thursday, I went to work and Gran kept Mason and his cousin Alex. These two little blonde boys are going to get into SOOO much trouble.

This weekend's weather has been beautiful so we packed some snacks and headed up to Arrington Vinyards. Eric and I had never been there but the Jones's visit frequently (winos! :) Even Mason enjoyed his first visit to a winery.
When we got home Mason was so ready to go to bed. This is how he wanted to drink his bedtime bottle. (Please notice Eric in the background playing on Mason's new piano toy) :)

If your read our blog frequently you might remember that we have been renovating our bathroom due to some mold we found almost a year ago. This weekend mark finished the shower and it is beautiful!! The bathrooms is a little over 1/2 completed but it really is starting to come together. We will post more pics once it's finished.

Happy Easter

Easter is almost over and we had a jam packed day. We went to church this morning and spend the afternoon and evening eating and hunting easter eggs.

This is Mason getting his "Easter bath." It was the first time we bathed him in the big tub and he LOVED it! He splashed around and crawled everywhere. He was so excited to be free to roam the tub.

The Money Shot

This is the picture Brooke called "The Money Shot." We all agreed it should win an award. Good job Brookie for capturing such an awesome photo.

I had to add this one as well because he looks extra cute. Props to Brooke for this one too!

He's got legs...

Baby Legs that is. Eric HATES them and says he looks like a baby prostitute but I don't care! I love em!

In other news, Mason waved at Lucy today and then waved again tonight. I will try to get it on video soon and post it.

9 months

Holy Crap! My baby is 9 months old today. Time has FLOWN by and this week has been a record milestone week. Just since last weekend he has done the following:

  • He is crawling a little on his knees but mostly getting from point A to Point B by scooting. He kind of looks like an inch worm so we call it worming instead of crawling.

    video.

  • He is pulling up to a standing position. I went to get him out of his bed and found him like this.

  • He gives really sweet hugs and lays his head on my shoulder.
  • When you tell him to give you a kiss, he sticks out his tongue and licks you. I think he learned that from his canine companions he is around so much.
  • This week he tried cut up pieces of banana and loved it! We also tried avocado but he didn't love that as much as the banana.
  • When he eats his cheerios he likes to throw them on the floor to Lucy. She really loves him for that. (You'll have to turn your head to the left to watch this video..Sorry!)
    video
  • Today I tried on his Easter outfit and when I put it on him, I wanted to cry he looked so cute. Sorry folks, no picture until the real day.

Last weekend we went to the cabin with all the Lackey cousins. He and Saylor are almost exactly the same size and they play really well together. Brooke took a bunch of pictures and got an award winning picture of Mason. I am patiently waiting for her to email it to me. Hint hint...Hurry up Brookie!!

Here are some more pictures that I couldn't resist posting

Chillaxin with "Auntie Em"

"Uncle J aka The Godfather"

Man time on the floor
About to get my cheerios
He is obsessed with this ball. Can you tell?
Cheerio Goatee
He cut a top tooth about two weeks ago. That day he wouldn't let go of the teething ring.
He NEVER wakes up this happy...I just happened to catch him at a good moment.
