Decisions, Decisions

Hello all my mommy friends: :)

Does anyone have any recommendations on a toddler car seat? I am trying to decide between a Britax and a Recaro. I went to USA baby today to look at the Britax seats. That was what I was pretty sure I was going to get. I got to talking to the sales lady and she highly recommended the Recaro seats. I had never heard of Recaro but apparently, they were the first manufactures for the seats in the porshe and also design the seats in professional racing cars. Now I can't decide since she said Recaro got better safety ratings than Britax and they also meet the European safety ratings. Does anyone have any information or personal experience with either brand? Thanks!

Happy Birthday/Father's Day!

Tomorrow is Eric's first official Father's Day and just happens to be his 28th birthday as well! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and daddy to Mason. When Eric walks into a room, Mason's eyes light up and he just smiles at him and can't wait for his daddy to come and pick him up. They really have a special bond, that I have loved to watch grow more and more every day. Eric, thank you for being you. I hope you have a great birthday and Father's Day! We love you so much!

Elisa's baby shower

This past weekend also consisted Elisa's baby shower. All my best friends from high school were in town for the reunion so it was a perfect weekend to have it. Elisa is having a boy, due on Labor Day and his name will be Warren Scott Goodrich III. They will call him Tripp.

10 year reunion

This weekend was my 10 year high school reunion. At first, I was a little reluctant to go but I have very convincing (and demanding) friends (pictured below) that finally talked me into it. I gave Eric a guilt trip and he finally agreed to go too...(not without a lot of whining on the way there though!) I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised with the turnout and for the most part enjoyed it. There were a few awkward conversations here and there but I guess that's expected. It was fun to see people that have changed and even more fun to see people who hadn't changed at all. :) I was most excited to see my girls from NYC and a couple other close friends who have moved away. As much fun as this shin-dig was, I think I am good for the next 10 years. At my next reunion we will all be pushing 40..I have a feeling that will be MUCH different.

If you need me..I'll be in the bathroom

9 months later, and the bathroom is finally done!! If you haven't read our blog previously or just forgot since it's been so long, here is a rundown of what happened.
-Sept 08- noticed a leak in the shower
-Oct 08- suspected we might have mold damage and called a mold remediation company. Remediation company confirmed we did have mold damage and told us they would have to rip out half the bathroom all the way down to the studs. We decided since the bathroom was over 20 years old that we would go ahead and update everything. It was in our long-term plans to do it one day anyways.
-Oct/November/December 08- Searched for a contractor to rebuild the bathroom once the mold had been removed. You would think in this economy, general contractors would be on top of returning quotes but out of the 6 contractors that came out 2..that's right 2 got back to us with a quote.
-January 09- Mold removal begins
-April 09- rebuilding of the bathroom begins
-May-09 Bathroom is finished.

Take a look at the before and after shots. I love, love, love my new bathroom. I would spend all day in there if I could.
